This piano game or activity gets students’ brains working on deciphering key signatures up to 4 sharps and flats! Decide whether the key signatures are paired to the correct key signature name or not. There is a set of correct and incorrect answers

*18 cards of incorrectly paired key signatures and names

*backing graphics for key signature playing cards in color and BW

How To Play:

Print out the true or false boards. Then printout playing cards front and back. Shuffle cards and place them to the side. Get students to turn over the top card and decide whether the key signature and key signature name matches. If they match place the card in the check mark pile. If they don’t match place them in the x pile. Continue sorting until all the cards are in piles. There is one correct answer and one incorrect answer for every major and minor key signature card. You can use them all or mix and match.

Alternate Game play 1: Give each player a check and x game board. Shuffle and divide the cards. Get players to sort them onto their cards. Whoever has the most cards on the check mark pile at the end wins.

Alternate game play 2: give each player a gameboard. Place the shuffled pile of cards face down. On your turn pick up a card and decide whether it is true or false and place it in the correct pile. First person to get 8-10 cards in their check mark pile wins!
