Description
This useful, user-friendly Exam Tracker can be used to track the progress of your students in all elements of their ABRSM Grade 2 piano exam preparation (2021 and 2022 syllabus).
It has been created in Excel, so you will need access to this application to use the file. Once purchased, you will get access to a downloadable PDF with instructions and the excel file will be promptly emailed to you.
The progress tracker uses visual traffic light colour coding (RAG) to help teachers, parents and students monitor which exam elements have not yet been started versus those in progress and completed.
Colour coding within in the Progress Tracker helps users know where to input information (white) or select from drop down lists (yellow). All other cells are either protected, so no need to worry about breaking the spreadsheet!. There are also comment boxes where the teacher can give feedback on specific areas of learning to parents / students; this helps them know what to practice and understand the different components required for the exam.
The syllabus repertoire lists (A, B, C) have been pre-loaded into the tracker allowing users to easily select their chosen pieces from dropdown lists. Scales and aural requirements for the grade and syllabus are also pre-loaded.
The user can input holiday dates and the progress tracker will automatically calculate the number of lessons and/or weeks until the exam entry date and exam sitting. This can be particularly useful when preparing for an exam.
The progress tracker can be saved as a PDF by the teacher and sent to parents and students, shared on screen and / or printed out.
The creator of this resource, Ruth Alberici, is a piano teacher who used her extensive excel modelling skills, learnt in her previous career as a Finance Manager for Cadbury, to create the tracker. She has used it successfully for many years in her own piano lessons and has had some very positive feedback from parents:
“This was very useful for me to track my son’s progress with the earlier grades and now he uses these sheets himself to focus his practice accordingly. “
” These are very useful as they help kids and us track progress.”
